mitote dance intensive This is a 2-day dance workshop that wraps up with an informal showcase/fiesta. It’s for dancers looking to level up their skills, dive into an intercultural experience and collaborate in a choreographic piece with well-known international artists from Mexico. In Mitote, Mexican artists will travel to join local movers in Arizona for a vibrant exchange of knowledge, cultura and creativity!

Michelle Calderas
Michelle Calderas is a highly accomplished dancer, holding a BFA in Dance from the Autonomous University of Baja California. She excels as a teacher, choreographer, performer, and dance promoter in Mexico and the United States. Her diverse experience in Hip-Hop and contemporary dance as well as her global training make her a unique asset that will be harnessed at Mitote Dance Intensive.
Michelle has been an integral part of the Hip-Hop Mexican dance group Tequila Movement, serving as a dancer and choreographer participating in competitions across Mexico and the US.
As a valued member of Tranze Danza Contemporánea, Michelle has showcased her talent as an interpreter at international dance festivals in Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and US. She co-created Nodos Danza, exploring and fusing Hip-Hop and Contemporary movements in her work and co-created Interconnection: Danza Baja, a platform for dancers to take contemporary and Hip-Hop classes and showcase their work in Baja California. Michelle's commitment to nurturing talent in both countries is admirable.

Alejandro Salomon
Alejandro brings a unique approach and expert mastery to dance partnering, making him a standout in the field. As the founder of Movimiento Progresivo, he has been instrumental in building a thriving dance community in San Luis, Sonora. With numerous awards as both a dancer and choreographer, Alejandro has showcased his talent on national stages and performed internationally across Mexico, the USA, and Asia. Currently, he is the proud owner of Allegro Dance Studio, where he continues to inspire and cultivate the next generation of dancers.
Alejandro has received numerous awards as a dancer and choreographer, participating in national forums as well as international performances as a member of Tranze Danza Contemporanea in Malaysia, Taiwan, United States and Mexico.
He currently serves as the director of the dance program at Allegro dance studio and teaches his “Movimiento Progresivo” Dance Class in different parts of Mexico and the US. His unwavering commitment, exceptional talent and notable achievements position him as a distinguished figure in the Mexican dance community in Baja California and Sonora.
